450 Myanmar Orphans Thanks to World Chefs

….. long time Friends of Myanmar Chefs – as Chef Alan Payen, ( best known to all of us as former Mauritius Chefs Association President and active participant at 2011 South African ” World Chefs Tour Against Hunger ) always with the lovely Mary Payen arranged a fantastic donation for 450 orphans and poor families children at 2 Monastery schools at the outskirts of Yangon on 8th June 2019.

As Friend & Ambassador of World Chefs Without Borders for Mauritius, Alan & Marie gave an early info and task to WCWB Myanmar and YOUNG Chefs Myanmar for this noble deed, planned for 8th June 2019, the day after the 6th Food Hotel Myanmar which Alan joined as World Chefs certified Judge….

With Alan & Marie also in the boat,- Thailand WCWB Ambassador Chef Jamnong and World Chefs Historical Committee member Chef Alan Palmer both ” with much Myanmar Experience ” since years. Lead by MCA secretary Ma Khet Khet all arrangements were done for a 450 meal cooked fresh and rich, with 300 Traditional School Bags and all Stationary for the school age children ( 1th June School started in Myanmar ).

….4:30 am up for all, bus ready, drive to Yangon s biggest whole sale vegetable & fruit market,– I run up front fixed the rates, – how much kg,- Marie had the money and collected the change,- Alan & Alan followed by Chef Kyaw Kyaw and Myanmar YOUNG Chef Hein Thu with several more young chefs carried all to the entrance — that way we had all bought within 30 minutes for the 450 kids – rich meals …. 50 kg potatoes, 50 kg Onion s and 5 kg Garlic were already peeled the day before at MCAC by 20 Young Chefs from Chef Moe Moe s Star Resources Training center with much thanks to the all Myanmar YOUNG Chefs support here.

Arrived at the Mala Thiri Girl s Orphanage, Alan & Alan so also Chef Jamnong saw each other quick in the midst of non s and young chefs cutting, cleaning, chopping …. Alan Payen overlooked also the meat cutting while Chef Jamnong did some fantastic salads with a Thai Cuisine touch. Chef Kyaw Kyaw and his young Chefs crew took direct care the different curies and soup,— this time with the WCWB Aid Gas Cooking equipment, more fast and efficient as the usual here only wood. They got after some minutes much hands by Myanmar Pastry Alliance – YOUNG Chefs, — Chef Aghee arranged his IBP ( Bakery & Pastry Training Center ) center students…as well still in Yangon some YOUNG Rakhine Pastry Chefs joined…

… MCA – Young Chef Hein Thu,- just a day before performed the PIZZA show at 6th MCAC on Stage arranged all the by METRO Myanmar sponsored Pizza to be Wok baked over open fire and a cover – great results and best taste to the joy of all the children,…. which knew Pizza – so never had one …first time experience.  

At same time Ma Khet Khet & Marie sorted all school stationary into the 300 School Bags and arranged for the first donation hand over to the primary students.   In long lines all Orphans came along for Marie, Alan & Alan with Chef Jamnong to hand over the much needed school bags and stationary with pen, exercise books, ruler, rubber etc….

Chef Kaung Myat joined with his friend, wife and Baby so did Myanmar only Chocolate Chef Ye Myo Minn all good hands on for the much work and short time to feed the 450 hungry right in time for Lunch…

Naing Oo and some YOUNG Chefs took than 150 portion out together with much Muffins, Doughnuts sponsored for MCAC Chefs Lounge by METRO Myanmar and was here the day after a great METRO Sweet Touch,- many kids gave first the doughnuts back as they did not knew they could eat it – Alan & Alan showed them and than they were on.

The children after lunch played some Music and had some Dance performances as Thank YOU to Alan & Marie for the kind donation of this rich meal, the school bags filled and Chefs, Jamnong & Alan with all Young chefs great work…    

Both initiated funding for a Chefs Social Responsible mission in Myanmar, to support children ,- against hunger and support educational school bags and stationary. The initiative was arranged through Myanmar Chefs Association with volunteer support of the Young Myanmar Chefs Association with much hands on support .

We thank Mr Alan and Mrs Mary Payen very much for the all Nobel arrangements and wish them both a great healthy live and to see both soon again in Myanmar,-
