1300 rich Meals Donation for MASTER Chef Michel Meca 27.1.2019
….. a ZERO Plastic Donation by MCA…..
Following the brain child of ” Chefs – Entrepreneurs’ ” and MCA s 1995 co founder, Renato Buhlmann and Magnus Scherr and with funding from The Myanmar Chain des Rotissuers ” Memorial Dinner ” for late Master Chef Michel Meca, the Myanmar Chefs Association and World Chefs Without Borders – Myanmar cooked up a silent storm for 1300 people visiting the Shwedagon Pagoda road as good deed in the name of Master Chef Michel Meca.
Chefs Kyaw Kyaw and Ye Nanda Khin, Chef Zwe Paing, Aye Win, Myo Sandar, Pastry Alliance Sai & family with much support of some 50 plus young chefs. MCA Naing Oo and Saung Sandi arranged all logistic,- Kyaw Kyaw ensured again and here much thanks to the Hlaing Family supplier for a best pre prepared and at low cost many ingredients.
Magnus Scherr now METRO Myanmar arranged the Mahlzeit German Restaurant kitchen to be used for most prep and final cooking – still Chef Nanda used the June 2018 WCWB Tour Myanmar equipment for a last re heat.
Nay Pyi Taw chairman Romeo arranged and sent the 1300 plus big teak leaves – again ZERO Plastic food donation for 1300 plus by Myanmar Chefs Association and WCWB Myanmar…
The Shwedagon Pagoda trusty quick gave permission for the cooking and donation, – the MCA office had arranged with all volunteers all at best with support of the trusty group.
A final group picture was taken by Food Artist Chef Thein Naing with all supporter and volunteers after 1300 meals were served – all vegetarian with egg, nutritious based on chick pea vegi curry and a cabbage salad was cooked to excellent a dry curry easy to carry with the Myanmar Traditional Plastic Free packing.
A good farewell for Master Chef Michel Meca which worked in Myanmar and trained hundreds of chefs in over 15 years – gone to early with just 59 years a great loss for generations of young chefs to come a former Hilton Hotel gold award winner at past IKA Culinary Olympics Team event and an excellent trained pastry chefs next to be a great Basque Chef.
The funds were raised at a ” Michel Meca Memorial Dinner ” the week before at Le Planteur with a superb Basque meal, many friends of Chef Meca and the Chain des Rotissuers joined the evening where the funds went to the Blind Chefs School and here to the food share at Shwedagon Pagoda.
The MCA young chefs joined as volunteers so many students from the Star Resources thanks to Chef Moe Moe Khaing,– Pastry Alliance Sai and Aghee took good care for some Thai Blind Tourists and joined the meal with them,– and Chef Federico had some French and Italian Tourists which joined into the Traditional Food donation…..
Well done thank you Chefs Kyaw Kyaw and Ye Nanda as well Renato and Magnus for the wonderful idea and giving the young chefs and WCWB Myanmar again a great chance to share and care in and for the public.
